MILL CREEK -- Marysville-Pilchuck scored six runs on six hits in the first inning en route to a 10-0 five-inning win over Jackson in the first round of the 4A District 1 baseball playoffs Monday at Jackson High School.
M-P pitcher Frankie Nelson threw a one-hitter, allowing just the one baserunner. The Tomahawks' Riley Gilbertson batted 3-for-4 with a double and three runs batted in.
M-P advances to Tuesday's winner-to-state semifinals and plays at 4 p.m. at Everett Memorial Stadium. Jackson plays a 4 p.m. consolation game at Mountlake Terrace High School Tuesday.
