Caring oncologist helped me through

I wanted to thank you for the article on Dr. Paul Knoll on Friday. ("Now a cancer patient himself, Everett oncologist relucantly retires.")

While it made me cry, it made me proud of Dr. Knoll. He has been my doctor since 2001 when I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. I couldn't have handled it as well without him. He gave me a feeling that I could trust him and he would take care me and I'd turn out fine. I was one of the lucky ones and I am fine.

We both decided, since we were previously Seattleites, that Everett would be perfect if they only built a Dick's Drive-in. That was a common weakness so it created a stronger bond. I've grown to love and respect him and will not see anyone else ... I guess now I will, but I wish him the best and if he needs a ride to Dick's -- I'm up for it! Road trip! Yeah!
