BOYS SOCCER: Lakewood stuns unbeaten Cedarcrest

MOUNT VERNON -- Lakewood upset previuosly unbeaten Cedarcrest 1-0 Saturday in the 2A District boys soccer championship game at Mt. Vernon High School.

Joseph Hawkins scored the winning goal in the 76th minute off a deflection.

Lakewood had lost twice to Cedarcrest during the regular season, including a 7-0 thumping on April 29.

Lakewood advances to next week's state tournament at the district's No. 1 seed. Cedarcrest will be the second seed.
