McCain focuses on green voters in Washington visit
By Curt Woodward Associated Press
NORTH BEND, Wash. -- John McCain is continuing his pitch to green voters with a discussion about the environment and a tour of the outdoors near North Bend.
The Republican presidential candidate's Western Washington swing comes a day after he detailed his environmental agenda in Oregon. On Tuesday, he's meeting with former Gov. Dan Evans and REI President Sally Jewell, among others.
Part of McCain's plan would battle global warming with a cap on carbon emissions. He's using the plan to distance himself from the Bush administration.
McCain also has a fundraiser planned Tuesday evening in Bellevue. Tickets are $1,000 for the main reception, $2,300 for a VIP reception, $10,000 for a photo opportunity, and $33,100 for the main "victory dinner."
