U.S. 2 reopens after head-on crash
By Jackson Holtz, Herald Writer
SULTAN – A man trying to change the CD playing music in his car is believed to have caused a head-on collision this morning on U.S. 2 near Sultan.
The crash sent a woman to the hospital with leg injuries, officials said.
The accident occurred around 11 a.m. ear the intersection of 368th Avenue SE and U.S. 2 between Sultan and Gold Bar, said trooper Keith Leary, a Washington State Patrol spokesman.
A Bothell man, 25, told police he veered into oncoming traffic while changing a CD in his car stereo, Leary said.
The man’s Buick Riviera crashed into the woman’s Honda Accord. She was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Leary said.
The road was blocked for around 45 minutes as crews cleaned up the mess.
Police are investigating possible negligent driving charges against the man.
