Delays on Boeing's 787 program have forced customers to change route plans and schedules.

787 customers adjust schedules

Dreamliner customer and Polish national carrier LOT will suspend its Beijing route on June 6, the airline said on Friday.

LOT will reopen the route after it receives its first 787 Dreamliner. The carrier had expected four of the eight 787s it has on order by the end of the year. Given the delays in the Dreamliner program, LOT now expects its first five 787s in 2010.

Japan Airlines originally hoped to receive its first 787 Dreamliner this August. The airline’s executive officer now anticipates that delivery in the October to December 2009 timeframe, Dow Jones reported today. He also said that the airline can’t yet predict the financial impact of the 787’s delay because Boeing hasn’t provided a final delivery schedule.

JAL has 35 787s on order, 13 of which are for 787-3s. That’s the short-haul version of the Dreamliner that Boeing shelved work on in February. The company still hasn’t given a date for when (or if) they’ll deliver the 787-3.
