Stick to the silver screen, Scarlett

Scarlett Johansson has a debut album. Regrettably, her voice is not quite as pretty as the rest of her. However, you could put Scarlett's face on Spam ice cream and it would sell brilliantly, so the album should do just fine.

Everett needs to get meaner about parking. At least, that's the analysis from a study of downtown parking. Proposals include more enforcement and stiffer penalties.

We predict an increase in the number of tickets issued, followed by a rapid increase in the canniness of parkers.

Today, Andy Rathbun writes about a Mukilteo man who has a great skill for haiku (Page E1). The Buzz -- unlike Andy and the author -- doesn't have the talent for haiku. Limerick is more like it.

There once was a man know as Andy,

With words he could be mighty handy.

He read a haiku,

"I know what to do,

I'll write it in verse, it's just dandy."

Sadly, the clouds and slightly cooler weather return today (Weather, Page B6). However, now that the shorts and flip-flops are out of the closet, they're not going back. Expect to see some shivering, but eternally hopeful, Northwesterners wandering around until the real start of summer, July 5.
