School administrators are treating the advertisement on Craigslist as a prank, perhaps by a graduating senior, school secretary Val Smith said. The ad, posted about noon Monday, says the school is available for sale for $250,000. It gives the school's phone number as the contact for more information. As of late Tuesday afternoon, the school hadn't received any calls about the bogus ad, Smith said. "We guess it's a senior joke," she said. The ad, which has a couple of misspellings, says the school is for sale because of budget cuts and that the property has been rezoned for commercial use. City's Open Air Market will open Saturday Darrington Open Air Market is set to open Saturday. The number of farmers and vendors has tripled since last year, said market organizer Martha Rasmussen. The market will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through the summer on the north side of Highway 530 at the entrance to town, Rasmussen said. Those who shop the market on opening day can expect to find crafts and garden plants. "The focus now is on gardening, with not too much produce quite yet," Rasmussen said. "But we're looking forward to a good season." More info: 360-436-2167 Arlington City wastewater plant receives state award Crews at the Arlington Wastewater Treatment Plant are celebrating their efforts to keep it clean. The state Department of Ecology recently gave the city an award for having an outstanding treatment plant in 2007. Arlington's plant is in the top 25 percent of the more than 300 sewage treatment facilities statewide. Evaluations by the state showed that the plant is in full compliance with all state regulations. Len Olive, city public works director, said the performance rating comes as the result of the hard work by treatment plant crews. More info: 360-403-3441 Genealogical society releases book A reprint of the 1926 book "Snohomish County in The War," which examines the roles that soldiers, sailors and civilians from Snoho­mish County played during World War I, is available for sale at the Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical Society. The society's library is at 135 N. Olympic Ave. in Arlington. The 514-page book is printed on acid-free paper and includes a new 78-page list of names of those who served during the war.
