Everett police end standoff at apartment

EVERETT -- Police ended a standoff near downtown Saturday night in which a man barricaded himself in an apartment after threatening bail bond agents.

Police were called to an apartment in the 2500 block of Rucker Avenue about 7:30 p.m. after bail bond agents attempted to serve a felony warrant to a woman who they believed lived there, said Everett Police Sgt. Robert Goetz.

A man inside the apartment reportedly told the agents he would kill them if they came inside.

Police responded and blocked off Rucker Avenue while they attempted to talk the man into surrendering.

The man left the apartment about 9:45 p.m. and was arrested. Police then checked the apartment but did not find the woman who was sought by the bail bond agents.
