'Sex and the City'
Kim Cattrall (left in photo), Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis are shown in a scene from "Sex and the City: the Movie," which opened late Thursday in area theaters. Movie critic Robert Horton said in his review in Thursday's Herald (also on Heraldnet.com) that the movie is aimed at fans of the TV series, of which he is not. "The film tackles truly important issues: the size of a clothes closet in a Manhattan apartment, Fashion Week and shopping," Horton writes. "In one delirious sequence, Carrie tries on dresses and the film actually morphs into 'fashion designer porn,' the names of the gods ('Christian Dior … Oscar de la Renta') whispered like prayers." The movie, rated R for nudity, language and subject matter, is showing at Alderwood Mall, Everett, Galaxy Monroe, Marysville, Mountlake, Stanwood, Guild 45th, Meridian, Oak Tree, Woodinville and Cascade Mall.
