Not far removed from helping guide a baseball team to a state championship, Bob Blair is taking over a program that has yet to play a game.
Blair on Tuesday was named head baseball coach at Glacier Peak High School.
Glacier Peak is scheduled to open in Snohomish this fall.
This spring Blair was an assistant baseball coach at Snohomish High, which won the Class 4A state title May 24 at Safeco Field.
Blair, who has lived in Snohomish five years, previously coached at O’Dea High in Seattle. In 2005 he guided the Fighting Irish to the 3A state championship.
Blair, a history teacher at Snohomish, will also be Glacier Peak’s athletic coordinator.
Also announced Tuesday: Brad Johnson was hired to be Glacier Peak’s head softball coach.
