UW linebacker Savannah breaks arm

Washington linebacker E.J. Savannah, who led the Huskies with 111 tackles last season, broke the humerus bone in his left arm over the weekend in a non-football-related incident, a school spokesman confirmed Tuesday.

Full recovery from the injury should take two to three months according to UW trainers. The Huskies open their season at Oregon on Aug. 30, meaning Savannah could be back for the entire season, though he would likely be limited when the Huskies open practice on Aug. 4.

Savannah, a junior, is part of a linebacking unit that is expected to be the strength of Washington's defense.
