Local players picked for all-state baseball series

The following area athletes have been selected to compete this weekend in the Washington All-State Baseball Series. Games are Saturday and Sunday at Parker Field in Yakima.

Alex Evans, Coupeville, P/3B/2B
Ethan Hargrave, Snohomish, P/OF
Markus Harkins, Lakewood, SS
Brice Herrick, Everett, C
Seafth Howe, Archbishop Murphy, P
Mark Jones, Darrington, 3B/OF
Doug Joyce, Stanwood, C/1B/P

The All-State players have been divided into four teams. Harkins, Herrick, Howe and Jones are on Team C, Hargrave is on Team A, Evans is on Team B, and Joyce is on Team D.

The All-State series features seniors who participated in feeder games around the state, received a top-10 ranking at those games and were picked by a panel of coaches from throughout the state.
