Feel like flying Derrie-Air?

Folks in Philly found advertisements for a new carrier in their newspapers: Derrie-Air.
The carbon-neutral luxury carrier proposes to charge passengers by the pound. At its Web site, you’ll find pricing such as $2.25/pound for flights from Philadelphia to Los Angeles.
The carrier’s founder, Dick Derrie, got the idea of charging by the pound back in 1994 when he sent a package by express mail:
"Heck," he reasoned to himself. "These sons-of-a-gun are making me pay by the pound! Now what if we ran an airline the same way..."
As the Associated Press notes in its story on the airline, you’ll want to read Derrie-Air’s disclaimer.
