Wilson, who has 20 years of insurance industry experience, will oversee and manage the customer service representatives at Whitfield's five branch locations. Bill Goodwin has been named chairman of the board and Robert Cray as director-at-large at Harmsen & Associates Inc. Goodwin has 33 years of civil engineering experience in the area. Cray has 42 years of land surveying experience with private and public clients throughout Island and Snohomish counties. Harmsen & Associates Inc. is a 60-person, civil engineering, land surveying, landscape architecture and land-use planning firm with offices in Monroe and Oak Harbor serving clients throughout the Puget Sound region. William Yu has been named branch manager at KeyBank's Lynnwood branch. With more than 10 years in banking, Yu is a graduate of the University of Washington and is active in the South Snohomish Chamber of Commerce. KeyBank says it has significantly enhanced and revitalized its Lynnwood North branch located at 4401 168th St. SW, Lynnwood. Bob Knight, owner of Find It Games in Monroe, has been named to the Children's Safe Products Act Advisory Committee by Gov. Chris Gregoire. He's charged with helping develop additional legislation during the 2009 legislative session. Nate Weddle of Moss Adams had passed his CPA examination. He graduated with honors from the University of Washington business school. Joanne Limb of the Marysville School District was awarded a certificate of achievement for successfully completing the facility manager seminar conducted in Maumee, Ohio, by Spartan Chemical Co. Inc. Mergers Columbia Distributing Co., which has facilities in Everett, will merge with Mt. Hood Beverage Co. and Gold River Distributing. The companies all distribute beer and non-alcoholic beverages in Oregon and Washington. The merger will form a new organization called CoHo Distributing with expected sales of 35 million cases of beverages per year in facilities in Everett, Seattle and Portland; Eugene; Medford and Bend, Ore. Honors JCPenney's Alderwood mall outlet, managed by Ralph Rutledge, received the company's chairman's award at a banquet in Dallas on May 2. JCPenney presents its awards annually to the top-performing stores, districts and other selected teams. Classes, workshops Individuals who are re-entering the work force because of divorce, separation, death or disability of a spouse, or loss of welfare, can find tools and support in workshops presented by the Pathways for Work through the YWCA. The workshops are designed for individuals who have spent at least 10 years as a homemaker not working outside the home and now find it necessary to earn a living. Additional registration spots may be available for other women seeking employment with a similar situation. The next workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 9-22 in Everett. Milestones Stoneway Roofing Supply announced the outstanding achievement of a perfect safety record for one full year by its Everett branch. The branch operates three full-time rooftop-delivery trucks. Collectively it has delivered more than 25 million pounds of building materials to 2,000 job sites without a single accident. Miscellaneous A campaign by Western Washington Fruit Research Foundation, an independent volunteer group supporting tree fruit research, for its community fruit garden at the WSU Northwest Research and Extension Center, has raised about half of the $55,000 needed to fund operations at the garden, located at the WSU Northwest Research and Extension Center, 16650 Highway 536, Mount Vernon.
