Everett City Council, 8:30 a.m. today, City Council Chambers, 3002 Wetmore Ave. The council is expected to approve a request to close Alverson Boulevard, Wetmore and Rockefeller avenues, and Fourth and Fifth streets, north of Fifth Street, for a festival and fireworks show on July 4 from 6 a.m. to midnight.

Everett Planning Commission, 6:30 p.m. today, Weyerhaeuser Room, 3201 Smith St. The commission plans three public hearings on proposed zoning changes.

Snohomish County PUD Board of Commissioners, 9 a.m. today, PUD Headquarters Building, 2320 California St., commission meeting room. Commissioners are scheduled to consider handing over interest in the Edgecomb Substation to the city of Arlington.

Marysville Traffic Advisory Committee, 10:30 a.m. today, Public Works Building, 80 Columbia Ave.

Snohomish County Council, 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. today, eighth floor of the Drewel Administration Building, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. The Public Works Committee plans to discuss electronic recycling and s Granite Falls road project at 9 a.m. The Finance Committee plans to discuss tax revenue and economic development at 10:30 a.m.

Snohomish County rural policies meeting, 6:30 to 8 tonight, Evergreen State Fairgrounds 4-H Building, 14405 179th Ave. SE, Monroe.
