NBA NOTES: Spurs concerned about Ginobili playing in Olympics

Concerns are growing among top San Antonio Spurs officials over guard Manu Ginobili's plans to play for Argentina in the Olympics.

Ginobili is nursing a badly sprained ankle and told Argentine media Wednesday that doctors have told him the ankle injury was worse than he thought. He said he must immobilize the ankle for 3-4 weeks, but that he still hopes to play for Argentina.

He told the reporters that he will have new MRI tests in San Antonio early next month.

Coach Gregg Popovich said he hopes his star sixth man gives serious consideration to sitting out the Beijing Games.

"My concern is that it's going to get worse. He's got to seriously consider his health," Popovich told the San Antonio Express-News for a story in its online edition Wednesday.

CELTICS: Boston's streets will be crowded again with screaming fans celebrating a championship -- but this time they'll be wearing green.

Mayor Tom Menino announced plans for a "rolling rally" at 11 a.m. today to celebrate the Boston Celtics' win over the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals. The parade will start at the TD Banknorth Garden and wind its way through downtown to Copley Square. The parade also will be broadcast on a Jumbotron in Copley Square and Boston Common.

FINALS RATINGS: Game 6 drew the highest NBA finals television ratings in eight years.

The Boston Celtics' deciding victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night earned a 10.7 rating on ABC, the network said. It's the highest since Game 6 of the 2000 finals on NBC between the Lakers and Indiana Pacers.

RAPTORS: Toronto bought out the contract of Jorge Garbajosa, the Spanish forward whose career with the Raptors was cut short by a broken leg.

He had one year and $4.25 million left on his contract.
