On the Web: Gatorade winners

Posted at 1:34 pm by Mike Cane, Herald Writer

Every school year we report the winners of Gatorade’s Washington Player of the Year awards in various sports.

Among the 10 winners during the 2007-08 school year, only one was from a local school: Edmonds-Woodway’s Tony Heard, a running back/linebacker who received the football honor. You can see the complete list of 2007-08 winners here.

In 2006-07 the lone area winner was Brandon Kelley of the Snohomish boys soccer team.

This stuff is all compiled on a fancy Gatorade Player of the Year Web site. It has info about winners from other states and explains the history of the awards.

To see a list of Washington winners that goes back to 1985-86 click here.
