NBA NOTES: Wizards re-sign Antawn Jamison

The Washington Wizards achieved a major free agency goal Monday when two-time All-Star forward Antawn Jamison signed a four-year, $50 million contract.

The deal retains the team's co-captain and leading scorer from last season. The 32-year-old has averaged at least 19.6 points and 7.6 rebounds each year since his arrival in Washington in 2004.

Last season was arguably the best in his 10-year NBA career -- 21.4 points and a career-high 10.2 rebounds -- and he was one of just five NBA players to average at least 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Jamison previously played five seasons with Golden State and one with Dallas.

LAKERS: The Los Angeles Lakers have given qualifying offers to restricted free agents Sasha Vujacic and Ronny Turiaf. General manager Mitch Kupchak announced the moves Monday.

Kupchak has said he hopes to keep Vujacic and Turiaf. As restricted free agents, Vujacic and Turiaf may sign an offer sheet with any team, but the Lakers would have the right to match.

TIMBERWOLVES: The Minnesota Timberwolves extended qualifying offers to restricted free agents Ryan Gomes, Craig Smith and Chris Richard on Monday and chose to let Sebastian Telfair and Kirk Snyder become unrestricted free agents.

By qualifying Gomes, Smith and Richard, the Wolves retained their right of first refusal for all three players.
