Fireworks set for Skagit Speedway's Midseason Championship

ALGER, Wash. -- The 2008 Skagit Speedway Midseason Championship and Les Schwab Fireworks Show is this Saturday, July 5th. All four local classes will line up their main events by the owner points standings. The night of racing ending the first half of the 2008 Foothills Toyota Tundra Racing Series will be highlighted by the premiere fireworks show in the Northwest.

All four classes have the top six driver in points locked into the Scrambles. The six-lap scrambles will be lined up by owners points with the top car in the first starting position and so on back to the sixth place car. The finishing order of the scrambles determines the starting positions of the first three rows.

In the Outlaw 410 division and the Budweiser 360 Sprints, the remainder of the lineup will be filled in by how they qualify in time trials. Fast time will sit on the inside 4th row, with the second fast filling the 8th place starting position. In the Cook Road Shell Sportsman Sprints and Wilson Auto Brokers Outlaw Hornets, the remaining positions behind the top 6 will be lined up by season owner points.

In the Outlaw 410 Scramble will be point leader Barry Martinez on the pole and second in points Aaron Fell on the outside. The second row will have Colton Heath and Travis Rutz, and filling the third row will be Josh DeWitt and Steve Kilcup.

The top six spots in the Budweiser 360ʼs will be manned by Cory Chamberlain, Brian Kirkpatrick, Alan Munn, Danny Kirkpatrick, Steve Cocking and Mack Brown.

For the Cook Road Shell Sportsman Sprint Scramble the six racers are Devin Madonia, Kelsey Carpenter, Marc Schutte, Steve James, Kyle Oman and Bill Rude.

The top six Wilson Auto Brokers Outlaw Hornets are Rick Young, Ben Gunderson, Ken Higby, Tyler Ketchum, Freddy Vela and Karl Dahl.

The spectator gates are open early this week at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.
