Family fun talk: Woodland Park Zoo fundraiser
Woodland Park Zoo will close three hours early on July 11 for its 32nd annual Jungle Party fundraiser. The zoo will open at 9:30 a.m. that day and close at 3 p.m. Visitors may remain on the grounds until 4 p.m.
Jungle Party, themed this year "For the Birds," draws nearly a thousand civic, community and philanthropic leaders to the region's wildest party in town. Held on the zoo's North Meadow, the fundraiser features informative tours of animal exhibits, bidding on auction items during the silent and live auctions, reception, a sit-down dinner and live entertainment.
Last year's Jungle Party raised a record $2 million to help support the zoo's animal care, education programs and field conservation projects in Washington state and around the globe.
