Lake Stevens

Triathlon expected to draw crowds

There is expected to be very limited parking this weekend at the North Cove Boat Launch in Lake Stevens because of the Iron Man Triathlon. The boat launch will be closed from 4 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Mill Creek

Comments sought on city's projects plan

A public hearing to discuss proposed projects in the city's capital facilities improvement plan is planned for later this month.

The hearing is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. July 22 at the City Council meeting at Mill Creek City Hall at 15728 Main St. The city is establishing its priority list for projects from 2009 through 2015.

A copy of the city's capital facilities program can be viewed at City Hall.

Anyone who cannot attend the hearing can mail their comments to city clerk Kelly Chelin at City Hall.

Mukilteo

Library celebrates decade of service

Celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the opening of the Mukilteo Library at an event planned for this month.

The event is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. July 19 at the library at 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd. There is no admission, and everyone is invited.

The library party is expected to include refreshments, a treasure hunt, arts and crafts, library tours and a play.

The Sno-Isle Libraries serves more than 600,000 residents in Snohomish and Island counties.
