Faith and Spiritual Life: Outreach

Arts-and-Crafts Fair

Allen Creek Community Church holds an arts-and-crafts fair from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 12 at 13421 39th Ave. NE, Marysville. The event includes a bounce house for kids, concessions and live music and is being held to raise funds to send two teams of volunteers to Malawi.

Blood Drive

Edmonds Adventist Church invites the public to a community blood drive from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 7 p.m. July 14 at 8625 196th St. SW, Edmonds, to benefit the Puget Sound Blood Center.

Cookies and juice provided.

Donors under the age of 18 must bring a signed parental consent form, available at www.psbc.org or at the registration table at the event.

Drop-ins are welcome. Donors can also call or e-mail the church office to schedule a donation time.

CAMPS

Wacky Olympics Day Camp for kindergartners to sixth-graders is offered by Warm Beach Christian Camps and Conference Center. The camp runs 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday at 20800 Marine Drive, Stanwood.

Activities include swimming, draft-horse wagon rides, train rides, crafts, games, skits, a petting farm and a day trip to Kayak Point Park.

The cost is $169 and includes a hot lunch and snacks daily.

An extended hours program is available for an extra fee of $49 per week. A swim lesson elective, led by Red Cross certified lifeguards, is also offered for an added fee of $39.

Faith Lutheran Church invites children from age 4 to the sixth grade to its "Beach Party: Surfin' Through the Scriptures" vacation Bible school, 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday to Friday at 1424 172nd St. NE, Lakewood.

The Salvation Army of Everett and Snohomish County presents a Tahoma Expedition Camp July 12 to 16 for youth ages 13 to 16 at Camp Arnold at Timberlake, 33712 Webster Road E., Eatonville.

Volunteers plan to hand out free water and provide a shady place to rest.

Meditation

Kadampa Meditation Center holds the program Equalizing and Exchanging Self with Others from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays through July 14 at Anabel's Framing and Gallery, 2531 Broadway, Everett.

Kelsang Khyenwang, a western Buddhist nun, plans to teach the series, which includes guided meditations, teachings, discussion and refreshments. Drop-ins are welcome.

Eastside Foursquare Church holds a dessert program called Fear No Evil, sponsored by Abuse Recovery Ministry and Services, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at 14520 100 Ave. NE, Bothell.

Stacey Womack, founder and executive director of Abuse Recovery Ministry and Services, plans to speak. Her organization offers faith-based classes for women facing or recovering from domestic abuse and intervention classes for abusers and high-risk youth.
