Social and environmental responsibility?

At Bainbridge Graduate Institute, yes.

The school offers an MBA in Sustainable Business. Students in the competitive program integrate environmental issues into business models, instead of waiting until they encounter them. Graduates, according to the school's Web site, are prepared to start their own sustainable businesses.

The program began in 2002, and the first class graduated in 2004. This year, 48 students reportedly graduated from the program.

The program lasts for two or three years, and is designed for working students. The total cost can be more than $50,000 including books and travel, according to the school.

Other colleges are offering their own versions, including San Francisco State University, the University of North Carolina and Green Mountain College.

Graduates can look forward to careers at such eco-thinking companies as REI.
