GOVERNOR'S RACE

Liberals have own version of history

It's always refreshing to be reminded of Democrats and their revisionist history (Wednesday letter, "Where is Rossi's apology to Demos?") For the writer's benefit, let us review: Dino Rossi won the general election for governor in 2004. Christine Gregoire had a recount. Rossi won again. Gregoire forced another recount a la Al "Count-em-til-I-finally-win" Gore. Gregoire managed to pull off what Al Gore couldn't (a little thing called the Constitution and the Electoral College got in his way), thanks in part to the votes of dead people and felons in King County. When Gregoire achieved the desired result, she demanded that recounts stop.

I know about all this because, in addition to the hundreds of news reports that the letter writer and her fellow liberals apparently didn't watch in 2004-2005 (the truth can be so inconvenient), my girlfriend's deceased brother managed to cast a ballot for Gregoire six months after his May 2004 death! Of, course, the liberal who used his ballot was charged with voter fraud, but the vote still went to Gregoire.

I'm glad that the letter writer spoke up. Now I know whose kids will be serving my kids french fries when they grow up.
