Weed-Away Day at the Edmonds park is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 12001 Picnic Point Road. Sound Stewards will be there to teach about the native plants that need protection from invasive plants. Picnic Point County Park is one of the few parks in Snohomish County with public beach access west of the railroad. A pedestrian overpass provides park users with a safe and easy access over the railroad so they can get to the 1,200 feet of beach front. Tools, water and snacks provided. Bring a sack lunch, dress for the weather, and wear sturdy shoes or work boots. Learn about EdCC nursing program An information session about Edmonds Community College's licensed practical nursing program is 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Snoqualmie Hall, Room 201, at the college. Prospective students are encouraged to attend and ask questions. Edmonds Community College offers the nursing program in partnership with Lake Washington Technical College. Students are enrolled in both colleges and attend both campuses, with the certificate granted by Lake Washington Technical College. Graduates are eligible to take the state board licensing exam. The hearing is during a meeting of the Marysville City Council at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 1049 State Ave. The City Council plans to take public comments on the city's transportation plans for the next six years.
