Man shot to death in south Everett

EVERETT -- A man was fatally shot early this morning in south Everett and police are talking to two men who were with him when he died.

The three men were in a car just before 2 a.m. in the 14500 block of Admiralty Way when gunfire erupted, Snohomish County sheriff's spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.

The driver, believed to be in his 20s, was shot, she said.

Deputies arrived quickly. They detained two other men, also in their 20s. Detectives were talking to them this morning.

The car hit a fence but no one else was hurt, Hover said. Police would not say whether they believe the car was parked or moving when the shots were fired.

Detectives with the major crimes unit were trying to determine a motive for the killing.
Admiralty Way was closed near the shooting scene so police could collect evidence.
