Is Summertime ADHD Meds Break Right for Camp Kids?

 

Parents often take their kids with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder off their medication during the summer, following advice from doctors who recommend occasional breaks from ADHD meds. Are drug holidays the right idea for kids going to summer camp? Newsweek reports that some parents, fearing the scorn of camp directors and counselors, not only don’t disclose the medication break but also keep their child’s ADHD diagnosis off summer camp forms.
