Call for new artists in Stanwood

The Stanwood-Camano branch of the American Association of University Women invites artists whose work has not previously been shown in its invitational art show to submit three to five pieces for jury selection.

Take your work from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to Stanwood United Methodist Church, 27128 102nd Drive NW in Stanwood.

Selected artists will be notified by Aug. 1 that their work will be on display in a September show.

Judges score jumps on a scale of 1 to 10, and participants are divided into age groups.

Jam sessions for kids on Fridays

Arlington's Village Music and Art's summer jam sessions for kids are from 1 to 3 p.m. Fridays at 338 N. Macleod Ave., Arlington. The sessions feature live music led by Jon Dalgarn of "Out of the Ashes."

Children younger than 16 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Parking on campus is by permit only. Visitors permits are available in the security office and Parks Student Union and may be picked up the day of the event.
