Friday night the Sox got that lead, they just couldn't hold it. Tri-City exploded for 10 runs between the sixth, seventh and eighth innings, obliterating a two-run Everett lead, and the Dust Devils defeated the Sox 11-4 in the third game of their Northwest League series. Jordan Pacheco, who came into the game batting .174 with one extra-base hit in 17 games, went 3-for-5 with a double, two triples and five RBI to lead the Dust Devils (16-8). Kevin Reynolds and Brandon Fromm each went 3-for-4 to pace Everett (9-15), which is still seeking its first victory in the series. Tri-City starter Parker Frazier (3-0) earned the victory, pitching six solid innings. Reliever Doug Salinas (0-3) took the loss for Everett. Everett, which never led in the first two games of the series, led 3-1 going into the bottom of the sixth inning. However, the Dust Devils scored three in the sixth, three in the seventh and four in the eighth to win going away. Everett manager Jose Moreno wasn't around to witness the carnage, getting ejected in the second inning for arguing a call. In the late innings, Tri-City was all over Salinas and fellow relievers Robbie Dominguez and Javier Martinez. The bullpen meltdown began in the sixth with Scott Robinson doubling in one run. Then with two out, Everett shortstop Anthony Phillips threw the ball away trying to make a spectacular play on a ball hit by Chris Vasani. It was ruled a basehit, scoring one run, and then a second scored on Phillips' throwing error, giving the Dust Devils a 4-3 lead. Tri-City broke the game open in the seventh. Pacheco smacked a two-run triple into the right-center field gap. Brent Bowman added an RBI single as the Dust Devils increased their lead to four. The Dust Devils piled four more runs on in the eighth, Pacheco hitting a bases-loaded triple to score three runs, then scoring on Bowman's sacrifice fly. Everett opened the scoring in the top of the second. Consecutive singles followed by a sacrifice bunt put runners at second and third with one out. Ryan Royster scored from third on a wild pitch to give the Sox a 1-0 lead. Everett scored again in the third when Dennis Raben doubled home Kevin Reynolds to make it 2-0. Tri-City got on the board in the bottom of the third on Leonardo Reyes' RBI double off the left-field wall, cutting the lead to 2-1. Everett restored its two-run lead in the sixth, thanks to a little fortune. Luis Nunez struck out for what should have been the third out, but the pitch got away from catcher Pacheco. Nunez was safe at first and Brandon Fromm scored from third on the play, making it 3-1.
