Locker hangs up his baseball cleats

Posted at 3:56 pm by John Boyle

In case you missed it in today's paper, I went up to Bellingham yesterday evening to catch Jake Locker's last baseball game of the summer with the Bellingham Bells.

Most importantly to Husky football fans, Locker stayed healthy while playing baseball, and he says his limited role with the Bells didn't interfere at all with his football duties.

I know some fans expressed concern about Locker spending time playing another sport, but seeing how much he seemed to be enjoying himself, and considering how little time he devoted to baseball, it's hard to imagine this being a negative experience for him. As he mentioned, this could actually help him in football because it gave him a chance to compete in game situations in the summer.
