Weirdly, Toadies are experiencing a bit of a resurgence.
I had no idea those guys had a cult following, let alone a fervent one, but apparently ardent fans haven’t forgotten the group most famous for singing “Possum Kingdom,” a dark little mid-90s rocker about sex and murder.
In anticipation of an upcoming album, the Texas three-piece returns to Seattle in September. I’ve got the presale info below, along with presale passwords for Lindsey Buckingham (one of the guys from Fleetwood Mac), Finland’s Children of Bodom, Sweden's Opeth and more.
Lindsey Buckingham, at the Moore Theatre, Seattle, presale from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, $41.50 to $51.50. Password is “Rainier.” Tickets for the Sept. 9 show on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday.
Toadies, at the Showbox at the Market, Seattle, presale from 10 a.m. today to 10 p.m. Thursday, $18. Password is “showbox.” Tickets for the Sept. 19 show on sale to the general public at noon Friday.
Children of Bodom, at the Showbox at the Market, Seattle, presale from 10 a.m. today to 10 p.m. Friday, $22. Password is “hatecrew,” naturally. Tickets for the Sept. 23 show on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Opeth, at the Showbox at the Market, Seattle, presale from 10 a.m. Thursday to 10 p.m. Friday, $22. Password is “lament,” of course. Tickets for the Oct. 4 show on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Saturday.
And Neumo’s also has some shows worth noting already on sale. They include:
GZA of Wu-Tang Clan performing “Liquid Swords,” at Neumos, Seattle, $20. Tickets for the Aug. 26 show now on sale.
Black Kids, at Neumos, Seattle, $15. Tickets for the Oct. 10 show now on sale.
