Airbus bags $40 billion in orders at air show

Posted at 8:31 am by Michelle Dunlop

Airbus said on Thursday that it won $40 billion in commercial aircraft orders at the Farnborough International Air Show this week.

The European jet maker said in a press release that it received 247 firm orders and nine commitments.

The total includes an order for 10 A350 jets from Synergy Aerospace, which firmed up a tentative agreement announced in February. Airbus announced that order today along with a memorandum of understanding from an Italian start-up cargo operator, Alis Aerolinee Italiane, for five A330 freighters.
