Art by the Bay music schedule

Music schedule

Saturday

11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Amber Darland, whose voice has been described as powerful and angelic, sings humorous songs like "Short Jeans" as well as songs about love, courage and social injustice.

1 to 3 p.m.: The South End String Band, which comprises between seven and 11 local musicians on fiddles, guitars, banjos, autoharps, bass and percussion perform songs containing down-home wit and wisdom.

3 to 5 p.m.: Pocket Monkey is a six-piece band that plays intricate original polyrhythmic instrumental jazz compositions with eastern European melodies, traditional jazz, classic TV theme songs, and hip-hop sampling, with hints of Frank Zappa and Jethro Tull.

Sunday

11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: The Stilly River Band members are known as "the bad boys of bluegrass" because they take nontraditional styles and play them in a bluegrass format the band calls "rudegrass."

1 to 3 p.m.: The Acoustic Detour featuring Selena Tibert is a metamorphic band serving up slightly psychedelic bluesy folk-tinged rock and roll with 13-year-old singer/songwriter Selena Tibert's set of original songs.

3 to 5 p.m.: One Ton of Ducks plays original "coffeehouse rock and roots" music with soaring harmonies, infectious grooves and sometimes a ukulele.
