Leonard Schiffman has joined the Everett office of Windermere Real Estate as a sales associate. A former general contractor, Schiffman is also a certified real estate appraiser.

Joe Sohn of Everett has been named an agent for Country Financial in Arlington, having completed the company's new agent school. He is attending the University of Washington.

Meetings

Washington Attorney General Rob McKenna will discuss the new distressed property law, which affects real estate investors, at the monthly meeting of the Real Estate Association of Puget Sound on Thursday. McKenna requested the bill, intended to protect homeowners from foreclosure rescue schemes. He acknowledges that some aspects are complex and confusing. Lawyer Rick Gregorek will be the discussion moderator. The meeting will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at Kane Hall on the University of Washington Campus. See www.reapsweb.com for driving directions.
