Woman killed in Everett crash late Friday

EVERETT – A Lynnwood woman killed late Friday night in a traffic crash at the intersection of Broadway and Hewitt Avenue was identified Monday as Maria Banaag.

Banaag, 59, was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where she died, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.

The King County Medical Examiner ruled her death an accident and said she died from head and internal injuries.

The crash occurred just before midnight, Goetz said. A full size pickup truck crashed into a Toyota Corolla in which the Banaag was a passenger.

Both drivers were treated for non-life threatening injuries at local hospitals.

The accident remains under investigation, Goetz said.
