Bedard has MRI on ailing shoulder

Posted at 4:42 pm by By Kirby Arnold

7:55 P.M. UPDATE: The Mariners just announced results of the MRI, which confirmed the previous diagnosis of an "internal impingement" and no severe damage to the shoulder. Bedard willcontinue with his current rehabilitation program.
-------

It's 4:40 p.m. Do you know where your tender left-hander is?

The Seattle Mariners do. Erik Bedard, on the disabled list because of "tightness" in his left shoulder, is undergoing a magnetic resonance imaging exam, which the club hopes finally will determine the reason he hasn't pitched since July 4.

The Mariners hoped to have results quickly, so they should know one way or the other what they're dealing with. So far, it's been puzzling.

Bedard hasn't felt good since that Independence Day game, eventually going on the disabled list. The plan was for him to go home during the All-Star break and throw, but he apparently didn't feel good enough to do that. He did throw some in the Mariners' indoor batting cage on Sunday and was supposed to throw again Monday but said he didn't feel good. Instead of letting this thing drag on, the Mariners decided an MRI was in order.

So drag out the needles and dye, boys. We just might learn what's really bugging Bedard (besides the media).

Bedard
Did the MRI show any evidence of a heart? How about a spine. Mr. Bedard seems to be lacking at least one of those!
