Travis Snider wins home run derby

Travis Snider regularly displayed impressive hitting power when he was a standout at Jackson High School. So it’s no surprise that Snider, a 2006 Jackson graduate, is still blasting baseballs.

Snider won the home run derby last week at the Double-A Eastern League All-Star game in New Hampshire. An outfielder for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Snider out-slugged the competition and once again showed why he’s one of the Toronto Blue Jays’ top prospects.

Through yesterday, the 20-year-old was hitting .265 with 15 home runs and 59 RBI in 82 games this season for New Hampshire.
