Take me out to the ball game

The Mariners are offering a few games with peanut-free sections so people with allergies can enjoy a game without fear. It's a lovely idea, but there's one small side effect. The traditional singing of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" will need to be amended because "Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack" isn't going to work.

Martha Stewart's column today offers some suggestions for saving energy. We have one more idea to add. Turn off the TV when her show comes on. You'll save power and you'll get the added bonus of not having to listen to her explain a simple, 37-step process for making decorative napkins with matching place mats and door stoppers.

This weekend, you have the chance to see the Disneyland of back yards. The attractions include a super tree swing and a real water slide, big enough for several kids to slip down on an inner tube. While such an amazing yard was certainly a lot of work, think how much energy the parents must save by not responding to kids whining, "I'm borrreeeeeeeed! I wanna go to the pooooooooooool!"
