A New Zealand judge made a 9-year-old girl a ward of the court for the sole purpose of changing her name. The girl went by Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii, which was better than how other Kiwi kids have fared, such as Number 16 Bus Shelter.

We'd suggest the judge expand his ruling to the children of celebrity parents, but there isn't a courtroom big enough. Sorry about that, Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily.

Have you driven a Kuga lately? Hit by heavy losses as Americans shun trucks and SUVs, Ford is furiously retooling its U.S. plants to build the smaller cars it's been building in Europe. Americans can look forward to driving Fiestas, Kugas, Mondeos and a small minivan aptly named Number 16 Bus.

Don't step on my green-soled shoes: A Bothell company has launched a new running shoe with a biodegradeable sole. An additive encourages microbes to dissolve the sole in 25 years, rather than the 1,000 years it takes most shoes to degrade in a landfill. The other option for quickly destroying a shoe is to allow it to remain in contact with the unwashed sock of a teenage boy.
