A feast of a festival
A Taste of Edmonds returns for a 26th year of pleasing every palate

The 26th annual A Taste of Edmonds opens Friday, Aug. 8 for three days of culinary delights.
Approximately 40 vendors will inhabit the food area, featuring regional delicacies and ethnic favorites. This year's dining area features more covered dining area for visitors to eat under cover rain or shine.
Over 70 artisans and crafter will be on hand offering original hand-crafted work, including jewelry, art, photography, clothing, pottery, glass, leather items and other creative merchandise.
Headlining the Main Stage this year is Multi Platinum recording artist Edgar Winter, the New Blues Brothers, 3 Dog Night tribute band Shambala, and the secondnd annual Edmonds Idol Contest.
The Beer Garden Stage will feature such bands as The Afrodisiacs, Hell's Belles, Spazmatics, The Beatniks, Shane Cobain as Elvis, Hit Explosion and The Retros.
The Kidzone children's area will feature plenty to keep kids occupied, including inflatable rides, pony rides, a rock wall, model hydroplane racing, free craft activities and booths. The Kid's Stage will feature artists such as Buck & Elizabeth, Kid's Karaoke, Reptile Man, Tim Noah, and the 2nd Annual Edmonds Jr. Idol contest.
Visiting the Taste this year will again be a breeze with a free bus shuttle that will drop visitors off at the festival entrance on 7th Avenue. Park free at Edmonds-Woodway High School; the yellow school bus shuttles will depart and return every 15 minutes during festival hours.
Meadowdale High School Class of 1978 will have an unofficial 30th reunion gathering, beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 in the beer garden; Edmonds High School Class of 1988, will do the same at 2 p.m. Saturday Aug. 9, also in the beer garden.
Returning attractions include the wine garden and its selection of Washington wines, commercial vendors and roving artists to entertain visitors. Visitors can bring their non-winning Scratch Tickets to the Washington Lottery booth to enter to win prizes.
Miss Washington USA and Miss Washington Teen USA contestants will visit Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. to sign autographs and answer questions.
