Historian talks at Everett Public Library

Before it was Everett: Step back in time this afternoon with Everett Public Library historian David Dilgard as he talks about Capt. George Vancouver's historic landing in 1792. The program, at 1 p.m. at the main library, is the second in a monthly series called Voyage of Discovery.

Along with the history lesson, Dilgard will show photos from the library's Northwest Room collection, and talk about Vancouver's historic birthday party for King George III on the beach of what is now Tulalip Bay.

The program is free. Contact the library, 2702 Hoyt Ave., at 425-257-8000, or check their Web site, www.epls.org, for information on the programs in this series.
