Local Briefly: Delivery truck hung up in utility wires
MUKILTEO -- A cable line snagged a semi-truck's trailer, lifting it into the air and cutting power to a few homes Wednesday afternoon.
No one was hurt, but the truck's driver waited in the cab until firefighters determined it was safe to get out, Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said.
The mishap occurred about 2:15 p.m. near the intersection of Pictorial and Maplewood avenues, she said.
Crews had to wait for a tow truck to arrive to remove the truck from the wires.
Monroe: Small plane lands in rural field
A man landed a small plane in a rural Monroe field Wednesday morning during a test flight.
He wasn't injured and no fuel was spilled in the bumpy landing. A fence was damaged.
The man set the plane down about 10:30 a.m. in the 17500 block of 190th Street SE, Snohomish County sheriff's spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
"He just decided the motor wasn't getting enough fuel so he put (the plane) down in a rural area," she said.
