Comcast Arena at Everett will host the stop on Young's North American fall tour, the venue announced Monday. A representative for Death Cab for Cutie said Tuesday the group has yet to be confirmed for the show, however. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, Young has remained one of the most vital singer-songwriters of the past 40 years. His recent albums "Living With War" and "Chrome Dreams II" were roundly praised, even if he remains best known for earlier work, including the songs "Heart of Gold," "Old Man" and "Rockin' in the Free World." Meanwhile, Bellingham's Death Cab for Cutie are confirmed as an opening act on several dates of Young's tour, but have yet to officially join the Everett bill. The group, which is headlining Seattle's Bumbershoot 2008 on Sept. 1, enjoyed the highest chart position of its career with the May release of "Narrow Stairs." The album, which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1, has produced the hit song "I Will Possess Your Heart" and the recent single "No Sunlight." Tickets for Young's concert go on sale on Sept. 12, ranging from $52 to $177 before service fees. The show joins what is shaping up to be a strong fall and winter concert schedule for Comcast Arena. Notably, emo favorites Panic at the Disco and Dashboard Confessional will play the venue on Oct. 14, while Broadway star Sarah Brightman headlines on Dec. 14.
