Waaaaaait for it, waaaaaait for it




Now that Major League Baseball will allow umpires to review replays of disputed home-run calls, reporter Kirby Arnold suggests a few ways players and fans can pass the time while waiting for a ruling. We plan to spend the time seeing if it's possible to eat enough garlic fries to drive away that person who copes with suspense by kicking the back of our seat for the whole game.

Speaking of instant replays, here are a couple calls that might have benefited from further review:

The demotion of Pluto. Two years ago today, the International Astronomical Union decided Pluto was no longer a planet, angering people who were happy with the solar system the way it was. Pluto has since deleted Earth from its list of friends on Facebook and begun plotting revenge with the other dwarf planets.

Rats for dinner. An official in India has a recommendation for dealing with hunger among the poor -- they should eat rats. Rat meat recipes also have been distributed to restaurants, which is something to consider before you order the Chef's Surprise.
