Wayne Ude will present "Who are The People: An Exploration of Character and Characterization," a seven-hour class that will explore what characters are, ways characters may be represented, and approaches to creating characters. The company will use the information from the 20-minute tour to help design the how new jets should look and feel inside. The interior exhibit will be offered until Oct. 15 at the center, which is located at 8415 Paine Field Blvd. Cost is $15 for adults. Ensuring your company isn't stuck with a brain drain as baby boomers get ready to retire is one of the issues that will be addressed in October by the Snohomish County Human Resources Association. Dream Dinners based in Snohomish is offering $500 gift certificates for guests whose favorite recipes are selected for a March 2009 menu. It's the second year the company, which has customers assemble the ingredients for meals they cook at home, has held the contest. The event will be held from Sept. 1 to Oct. 15. Recipes will be selected in the categories of steak, chicken, pork and seafood, and one winner will be selected in each category. The Aerospace Futures Alliance of Washington will hold its second annual aerospace summit from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at the conference center at the Comcast Arena, 200 Hewitt Ave., in Everett. Classes in lean manufacturing will be offered this fall toward the degree. They can also be taken on their own. The class will teach manufacturing methods often called the Toyota production system.
