NHRA honors Forrest, Charlotte Lucas before Mac Tools quailfying

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For their ongoing dedication and commitment to NHRA Drag Racing in both the professional and sportsman ranks, Forrest and Charlotte Lucas were honored at a track-side presentation held prior to the first Funny Car qualifying session Friday at the 54th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis.

NHRA president Tom Compton led the on-track presentation dedicating the west grandstand suite complex at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis in their honor.

“Few would argue the passion, commitment and dedication shared by Forrest and Charlotte to the sport of NHRA Drag Racing,” said Compton. “This is a fitting tribute to two individuals who have touched so many within the NHRA racing community.”

Besides being the title rights sponsor of the NHRA’s sportsman series, the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Lucas Oil is also the Official Motor Oil of NHRA and it holds the title rights to POWERade Series races in Brainerd (Lucas Oil Nationals) and Englishtown (Lucas Oil SuperNationals). Lucas Oil also sponsors several POWERade Series and Lucas Oil Series race teams including most prominently their son Morgan’s flagship Top Fuel team.
