Monroe teen critically hurt in tumble off moving SUV
MONROE -- A 17-year-old Monroe boy was in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center Friday after falling off the running board of a moving vehicle.
Two teens, both 17, were standing on the running board of a moving 1995 GMC Suburban, Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.
About 2:20 a.m. Friday, as the SUV was headed west on Wales Street just east of Van Avenue, the driver, a Monroe boy, 17, hit the brakes, she said.
One of the boys fell and suffered a serious head injury. He was rushed to the Seattle trauma center.
No one else was hurt.
Police are still investigating the incident, Willis said.
