CAMPAIGN TACTICS

Democrats have also crossed line

Apparently The Herald now advocates political censorship, applied selectively of course to the Republican Party. (Aug. 28 editorial, "Hate tactics won't win elections in this state.") I cannot take your faux outrage at the unauthorized "Obamanation" $3 bill very seriously. Apparently you have never been over to see the outright offensive and outlandish political material they sell in the county Democrat Party booth at the fair.

In years past they were selling all kinds of stickers and buttons, likening the U.S. president to Hitler, or Stalin and other notorious criminals, ridiculous and inaccurate anti-Republican slogans, and so forth. So where was your outrage then? Not only is this completely wrong and outrageous, but an insult to the memory of the millions who suffered and died at the hands of these dictators. This open hostility toward our candidates in your county and your city is so bad that I no longer display political campaign signs on my car because of fear my car will be vandalized by Democrat "activists."

It may be hard for you to believe, but yes, my and other people's cars routinely get vandalized when displaying non-offensive and simple Republican campaign stickers. What? You did not know there is actual fear and intimidation being perpetrated by Democrat party supporters in your neighborhood? Clearly you are out of touch.

How can anyone take your position of advocating censorship of an unauthorized but silly campaign stunt by a Republican, that was more in poor taste than racist, when you ignore the offensive, unacceptable, bigoted and even criminal behavior of Democrat "activists" in your own town? It does not surprise me why your circulation is shrinking.
