The Panthers posted 289 total rushing yards, thanks to Purviance's 23 carries for 159 yards. Mark Perry, Snohomish's head coach, credited a strong defensive team and great games by Purviance and co-quarterbacks Braden Allen and Spencer Carabello with the win. "Both (quarterbacks) are good kids that do a good job for us," said Perry. "We used both by design tonight to give them experience and watch them back on tape." After rushing for 55 yards during the first possession of the game, Snohomish took an early lead when senior Connor Moe kicked a 27-yard field goal with 5:40 remaining in the first quarter. Snohomish continued to dominate in the second quarter with a 61-yard possession that ended with Purviance running untouched down the middle to score a 29-yard touchdown. Moe added the extra point. Two minutes later, Kamiak received a big break when Snohomish racked up two 15-yard penalties on one play to move the Knights to the 29 yard line. Jake Sorter then caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Sam Ruppel with 2:11 remaining in the half. The entire Kamiak possession resulted in 81 yards on six plays, including four passes and the 30-yard penalty gain. The Panthers answered back with less than a minute in the half when Cameron Woolsey caught a 38-yard pass from Braden Allen (3-for-4 passing for 53 yards) to bring the Panthers to the 7-yard line. JT Repp finished the play with a 3-yard touchdown and Moe added on the extra point to give the Panthers a 17-7 lead. After a scoreless third quarter that included several turnovers, a couple of Purviance runs brought the ball down the field and fullback Clayton Jensen sealed the Panther victory with a 23-yard rushing touchdown with 1:45 remaining. "Our kids played hard," said Perry. "We made a couple mistakes in penalties and turnovers that we'll work on cleaning up but it was a good non-conference game." Kamiak 0-1. Meadowdale 28, Edmonds-Woodway 27: Edmonds-Woodway's comeback fell short Friday night at Edmonds Stadium. Three yards short to be exact, as the clock expired, sealing the Warriors' fate with them sitting on the 3-yard line. After trailing Meadowdale 14-0 through the first quarter, Tony Heard put the Warriors on the board with a 20-yard touchdown run but Connor Hamlett pulled in a 10-yard pass from Matt McDonagh for a 13-point Meadowdale lead going into the half. Din Kuses had two interceptions in the third quarter for Edmonds-Woodway. Each interception set up a scoring drive and Heard's 18-yard run with 1:15 left in the quarter put the Warriors ahead 21-20. McDonagh connected with Hamlett midway through the fourth quarter on a 6-yard pass and the two-point conversion was succesful. With 4:31 left in the contest, Heard scored his third touchdown of the night but the extra point was unsuccesful, leaving Edmonds-Woodway behind 27-28.
